GlobalFoundries opens $4b semiconductor plant in Singapore

 

GlobalFoundries (GF), a US-based semiconductor maker, has opened its US$4 billion extension creation plant in Singapore as the organization hopes to grow its store network.

The plant will deliver 450,000 extra semiconductor wafers every year, raising GF Singapore's general ability to almost 1.5 million wafers every year.

The 23,000-square-meter office is supposed to produce 1,000 jobs in Singapore, basically centered around gear professionals, process experts, and designers.

Singapore at present holds 11% of the worldwide semiconductor market, and this extension lines up with the city-state's desire to turn into a worldwide center point for cutting edge producing under the Assembling 2030 vision.

GF makes semiconductors planned by organizations including Qualcomm, MediaTek, and NXP Semiconductors. It is the world's third-biggest foundry by income after TSMC and Samsung.

GF's chips can be found inside devices like cell phones, laptops, cars, computer game, and smart speakers.
